Asphalt reinforcement
(Kopie 1)
Asphalt is the proven material for road construction, airport runways, take-off and landing strips. Damage caused by temperature fluctuations and vehicle loadings, for example reflection cracking, can also occur in new asphalt layers. Asphalt has a low tensile strength which can be exceeded even at quite small strains, leading to the formation of cracks.

Asphalt reinforcement
Reinforcing grids fulfil two important functions in an asphalt layer:
- They increase the tensile strength of the asphalt layer
- They carry a large proportion of the horizontal tension forces and ensure an even stress distribution over a larger area.
Reinforced asphalt layers reduce any tensile stresses that may arise and associated risk of overstress. Asphalt layers are effectively reinforced and their service life increased. The HUESKER product for asphalt reinforcement is HaTelit®
