History
HUESKER is steeped in the textile tradition of Münsterland, where agriculture still shapes the landscape today.
The company was founded in 1861 as H & J Huesker & Co. in Gescher. Two years later, the newly built factory began manufacturing its first cotton textiles. In 1867 it had 200 production looms – a reflection of the meteoric rise of the textile industry during Germany's founding years.
By 1958, the company realized that the only sure route to a viable future would be to manufacture items using synthetic fibres and decided to start production of textiles based on high strength chemical fibres.
The crucial task of realigning the production program was soon under way and by the mid-1980s the company was producing its first synthetic textiles for the agricultural industry at home and abroad. With products like Original-AGRITEC® and HaTe® silo protection grids and silo sacks, and Original-VIATRIFT® separation layers for riding area surface stabilization, the name of HUESKER soon became synonymous with high quality agricultural textiles.
Our many pioneering developments clearly demonstrate our expertise. At the beginning of the 1990s HUESKER began the development of wind protection meshes, which were subsequently marketed under the brand name Original-LUBRATEC® and had considerable influence on the redesign of livestock houses, in Germany and neighboring countries, from heated to outdoor climate housing.
Years later, as a result of the trend for side ventilation systems, Original-LUBRATEC® roll-up ventilation can be found installed in thousands of livestock houses, mainly in dairy cattle houses. Our systems define the state of the art in this field.
